ORLEANS–The North Country Falcons paid a visit to the Lake Region Rangers on Thursday for their Rangers’ Strikeout Cancer Game on Thursday.
The Falcons would make fine use of the long ball in this one, as Kaden Jones hit a grand slam, and Jamison Eckhardt hit his first varsity home run, a three-run blast, and the Falcons would end up winning by the score of 15-3.
Jones led the way on offense, as he went 4-4, including the grand slam.
Eckhardt was 3-4 with his homer, and he finished with 4 RBIs.
Logan Cross was 2-2, and Hunter Wells and Jacob Boisvert each had a hit.
Zak Fortin got the start and the win, pitching 2 innings and allowing one run.
Eckhardt pitched two innings of no-hit, no runs in relief.
The Falcons were slated to play Lyndon on Saturday, but that game was postponed due to weather,
Now standing at 8-1, the Falcons will get back at it on Tuesday when they host U-32.
Game time is set for 4:30.
As for the Rangers, they were in action on Saturday, and they fell to Randolph 10-5 on the road to drop to 0-7 on the year.
No details were available on the game, and the Rangers will be back in action on Tuesday as well, as they will host Thetford. First pitch is at 4:30.
