Red Oak’s softball team won its Class B state semifinal 5-1 against Lookeba-Sickles (35-5, ranked second) to reach its second fast-pitch state final in three years.

Red Oak (26-10-1, ranked third) took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning. 

Jayla King hit 3-for-3. Kaytee Hood hit 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Farrah Hempfling hit 2-for-3. Eelyn Martin allowed three hits while throwing 14 strikeouts in the full 14 innings.

Red Oak will face top-ranked Leedey (36-7) in the state final on Saturday at 5 p.m. at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Red Oak lost the 2023 Class A state final 1-0 to Caddo. Red Oak won its last fast-pitch state championship game in 2020, beating Roff 2-1 in the Class B final.
