The Detroit Tigers and the Seattle Mariners just played the longest winner-take-all postseason game in MLB history. The game lasted 15 innings, as both teams fought hard, with the score tied at 2-2. Mariners and Tigers fans were on the edge of their seats for more than five hours. Cal Raleigh continues to increase his chances of becoming the AL MVP.
It was intense, challenging, and emotionally charged. The Tigers came close to walking it off more than twice, but the Mariners showed strong defense. Seattle blew a couple of chances as well. However, they walked it off at the bottom of the 15th inning with the help of Jorge Polanco.
JP Crawford scored the winning run for the team, leading the Mariners to the ALCS. Former Yankees pitcher Tommy Kahnle surrendered the final run. Seattle will pack their bags to Toronto as it faces the Blue Jays at Rogers Center. The Detroit Tigers will be on a plane home with plenty of regret and broken hearts.
The Tigers put up a strong fight despite numerous obstacles throughout the season. They were one of the best teams, but the Mariners simply proved to be better.

It’s natural for fans to be upset, especially after the team put in a hard effort. Detroit Tigers fans will have to wait another four months to watch their team take the field again.
