Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed he is unsure of his future in managing after his contract with LA expires after the 2029 season.

Roberts has been the Dodgers’ manager since the 2016 season, and has had an extremely successful run with the team since his appointment. Roberts has an impressive managerial record of 944-575 with the Dodgers, placing him fourth for all-time wins among Dodgers managers, and third in win percentage among Dodgers with at least 100 games at the helm.

He has continually proven himself and clearly has the organization’s trust, having his contract extended in 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2025.

“I think at that point in time it’ll be more of a year-to-year type thing,” Roberts said USA Today’s Bob Nightengale. “It’s been a great 10 years here, but we’ll see where we’re at in four more years.

“The world is going to look a lot different, I’m sure.”

Roberts has made the postseason in each of his 10 seasons as the Dodgers’ manager, and has won two World Series with the Dodgers so far. The manager has finished first place in the division in all of his managerial seasons with the Dodgers except for one, which came in 2021. The Dodgers still won 106 games that season.

The 53-year-old has been around professional baseball in some fashion since being drafted in 1994, having taken on a role as a base coach with the San Diego Padres after his retirement from MLB in 2009.

Roberts has another chance to make history this postseason by winning his third World Series championship, which would move him above Tommy Lasorda into second place among Dodgers managers all-time. The Dodgers are through to the NLCS for the third time in five seasons, and are looking to be the first team to win back-to-back World Series since the New York Yankees did it from 1998-2000.

The Dodgers resume play in the NLCS on Monday, and will face either the Chicago Cubs or Milwaukee Brewers after the end of their series Saturday evening.
