Coming off their eighth straight series win after beating the Texas Rangers two out of three games in Arlington, the Seattle Mariners head to West Sacramento to play another American League West foe in the Athletics.
In their last series meeting, which took place in Seattle to begin the season for both clubs, the rivals split the four-game set 2-2.

Seattle looks to not only even the score with the Athletics, but also secure their 9th straight series win and add some distance between the clubs in the division standings. Currently, the M’s hold a two-game lead over the A’s for first place.
The A’s come into this matchup coming off a series win against the Miami Marlins, and currently have a 7-3 record over their last 10 games, only second to the M’s, who are 8-2 over that span. The Athletics’ Tyler Soderstrom and Brent Rooker are the dynamic 1-2 combo punch that has been guiding the A’s offense, and they look to add more fireworks for this young team.
The pitching matchups from this series will highlight some of Seattle’s best, as Bryce Miller will toe the rubber in the series opener on Monday against righty Luis Severino.
Tuesday’s matchup will have Emerson Hancock against the A’s lefty Jeffrey Springs. Wednesday’s series finale will showcase an underrated talent in the American League, with Bryan Woo taking the mound for Seattle, coming off a dominant start against Texas, hurling 6.1 scoreless innings and striking out eight Rangers. The A’s have yet to announce a starter.
