The Rangers have now made a number of moves to remedy their lack of hitting and stagnant offense. Most of those moves within the last 24 hours.

Texas fired their hitting coach, Donnie Ecker, after the bats came to life in their 8-1 win to close out the series against Seattle. Leody Taveras was put on waivers to make room for Evan Carter who has been playing much better in his last 14 games, slashing .289/.351/.577.

Taveras is expected to clear waivers and be optioned to Triple A Frisco.

To replace Ecker, the Rangers have hired Bret Boone who has never coached in MLB but did play a season under Bruce Bochy in San Diego which must count for a lot.

While we had all hoped the 15-2 win was going to be the turning point for the Rangers offense, it might just be that Corey Seager is back, the 8-1 win on Sunday, and the Little Savior being called up. Feels like a winning equation.

It feels like a lot of this weekend’s troubles, were hard hit balls right at gloves. The Rangers had showed really effort all week to turn things around, and the lineup shuffles seemed to spark Marcus Semien. On top of not being able to hit, they were also just running into some bad luck.

Maybe this week will finally turn that luck around as well.
