FS1 broadcasted the Yankees‘ 9-6 comeback Game 3 win against the Toronto Blue Jays.

During the postgame show, Ortiz was joined by host Kevin Burkhardt, Derek Jeter, and Alex Rodriguez.

The group discussed the Game 4 matchup as rookie sensation Cam Schlitter was set to take the mound for the Yankees.

However, Ortiz decided to ask his colleagues how Schlitter’s name is pronounced.

Bronx Banter

After everyone answered correctly, Ortiz joked, “It sounds like Hitler.”

Rodriguez instantly burst out in laughter, and Jeter was quick to respond to Ortiz.

“Alright, let’s go to a break, guys,” Jeter said after the shocking name-drop.

Burkhardt suggested that Ortiz call Schlitter a simpler name.

“Papi, you just call him Cam,” Burkhardt told Ortiz.

“And maybe it’ll be Mr. Cam, depending on how he pitches tomorrow.”

MLB fans, meanwhile, reacted to Ortiz’s stunning remark.

“The darkest turn imagineable,” one wrote.

“Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. Just ‘Cam’ it is!” a second said.

“Why would he say that?” a third asked.

The Yankees would be eliminated in the following game, losing 5-2.

Schlittler did his job, pitching 6.1 innings and allowing four runs on eight hits, only two of them earned due to an error by Jazz Chisholm Jr., and striking out two and walking none.
