The Brewers defeated the Cubs 3-1 in a decisive NLDS Game 5 to advance to the NLCS in their first postseason series win since 2018. “I haven’t let out a scream like that in 15 years,” Brewers owner Mark Attanasio said of the victory. William Contreras homered for the Brewers in the first inning to get things started and Seiya Suzuki tied the game in the following frame with a solo homer of his own. Andrew Vaughn hit a go-ahead solo homer in the fourth and then Brice Turang provided an insurance run with another solo shot in the seventh. Trevor Megill served as the opener for Milwaukee and rookie Jacob Misiorowski earned the win as the bulk guy behind him with four strong innings of work. Abner Uribe picked up the first multi-inning save of his career to seal the win for the Brewers.
