Should Detroit Tigers be concerned about non-Tarik Skubal starters?

On “Days of Roar,” Nick Pollack, founder of “Pitcher List,” evaluates the Detroit Tigers’ starting rotation — aside from left-hander Tarik Skubal.

The Detroit Tigers were in a rain delay.

The Tigers and Atlanta Braves entered a rain delay Sunday, Sept. 21, before the bottom of the seventh inning during the finale of three games at Comerica Park — the final home game for the Tigers in the 2025 regular season.

The game resumed after a 27-minute delay.

The Braves had a 3-0 lead over the Tigers when the rain poured, scoring all three runs off right-hander Casey Mize. Here’s how the three runs scored: Ronald Acuña Jr.’s RBI single, Ha-Seong Kim’s home run and Drake Baldwin’s RBI triple.

For the Braves, right-hander Spencer Strider tossed five scoreless innings. The Tigers stranded runners in all five innings against him, including two runners in four of the five innings.

Entering Sunday, the Tigers had a five-game losing streak, while the Braves carried a seven-game winning streak.

The Tigers were prepared for the rain in Sunday’s game, moving first pitch from 1:40 p.m. to 1 p.m., but the rain didn’t wait for the Tigers and Braves to finish the finale of their three-game series.
