Good morning, Mets fans!

Cal Raleigh homered and Jorge Polanco was clutch again with a pair of RBI singles for Seattle in a 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays in Game 1 of the ALCS.

Bryce Miller gave up a leadoff home run to George Springer and nothing more, tossing six innings of one-run ball. The Mariners’ bullpen provided three scoreless innings two days after it threw 10 innings of relief in ALDS Game 5. Toronto was held to two hits.

The Mariners are three wins away from the franchise’s first trip to the World Series.

Rookie Trey Yesavage (1-0, 3.21 ERA) will start Game 2 for Toronto Monday at 5:03 p.m. ET. Logan Gilbert (6-6, 3.44 ERA) goes for Seattle.. The game will air on FOX and FS1.

In the NLCS, Blake Snell (5-4, 2.35 ERA) goes for Los Angeles in Game 1 Monday and Brewers manager Pat Murphy said he will likely go with an opener, then maybe go to Jose Quintana or Quinn Priester for length. First pitch in Milwaukee is at 8:08 p.m. ET on TBS and HBO Max.

The Blue Jays added two former Mets to their ALCS roster. Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt replaced relievers Justin Bruihl and Tommy Nance. Toronto left shortstop Bo Bichette, out since Sept. 6 with a knee injury but hopeful for a playoff return, off the roster. The Mariners added ace Bryan Woo to the roster. The All-Star right-hander hasn’t pitched since Sept. 19 because of pectoral inflammation.

Yesavage said in a news conference prior to Game 1 that his family and girlfriend have been subjected to abuse during the playoffs. He was not specific about what happened.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start Game 2 in Milwaukee and that Shohei Ohtani will start one of the games in Los Angeles. Murphy said Freddy Peralta will start Game 2 for the Brewers.

Kyle Tucker said “we’ll see what happens” when asked about his future. The 28-year-old Cubs outfielder will be a free agent this offseason and could earn a contract in the $400 million range.

1973: The Oakland crowd gives Mets CF Willie Mays a standing ovation during introductions prior to Game 1 of the World Series. The A’s win 2-1 and Mays goes 1-for-4 and makes an error in center. It was the last of his 23 MLB seasons.

1974: The Mets trade pitchers Ray Sadecki and Tommy Moore to the Cardinals for 3B-1B Joe Torre.

2006: The Cardinals beat the Mets 9-6 to even the NLCS at one game apiece. Carlos Delgado homers twice and Jose Reyes has three hits, but Billy Wagner gives up three runs in the ninth.

2015: Daniel Murphy homers off Clayton Kershaw, but the Dodgers beat the Mets 3-1 to send the NLDS back to Los Angeles for a deciding Game 5.
