With the success the Liberty and the New York Knicks are having, not to mention the fine play the New York Yankees and New York Mets have displayed lately, this is a solid time to be a Tri-state area sports fan.
Stewart threw out the first pitch at Sunday’s game between the Yankees and Mets at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

In that game, the Yankees got out to an early lead on an RBI double by Cody Bellinger. They then scored six runs in the eighth inning, four of which came on a grand slam by Bellinger, to cruise to an 8-2 victory.
They improved to a 27-19 record, which kept them in first place in the American League East and gave them a five-game cushion over the second-place Boston Red Sox. The Mets, meanwhile, only have a half-game lead on the Philadelphia Phillies for first place in the National League East.

Stewart, a two-time WNBA MVP, has teamed with guard Sabrina Ionescu and center Jonquel Jones to give the Liberty a formidable core. Plenty of people feel the Liberty are the favorites to win it all again this year, although the field should be very competitive.
