CLEVELAND, Ohio — In a decision made by the Dominican Baseball League (LiDOM) late Monday, Guardians pitchers Luis Ortiz and Emmanuel Clase will not be allowed to play in their native land this winter.
MLB placed Ortiz and Clase on “non-disciplinary paid leave” in July because of an ongoing gambling investigation. They did not pitch for the Guardians for the remainder of the regular season and postseason.
