Riley Greene hit two long-distance home runs in his return to his home state, but Detroit Tigers pitchers were battered by the Tampa Bay Rays in a 14-8 loss on Friday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
The Tigers (48-29) dropped a series opener for just the fifth time in 25 series. They’ll face the Rays (42-34) two more times this weekend.
