How to Play King of the Diamond on DraftKings Sportsbook
King of the Diamond requires bettors to use a token on a pre-game parlay that must include a player to hit a home run. Same Game Parlays (SGP), SGPx and parlays are the eligible bet types. Whichever parlay form a bettor chooses must have 2-5 legs.
Any game that starts before 6 p.m. ET on the slated day will not be eligible for the King of the Diamond promotion. There is not an odds minimum. Unless using a boosted token, the bet minimum is $5.
The King (or kings) of the Diamond is decided based on the highest scoring team of the slated night. For example, suppose the Los Angeles Dodgers are the highest scoring team, and Shohei Ohtani hits a home run. In that case, all bettors who entered Ohtani to hit a home run in their eligible parlay and opted in to the contest will share in a $1 million prize pool.
The player only needs to hit one home run to qualify for a share of the prize pool. For example, if another Dodger hit two home runs and the Dodgers are the high scorers of the night, Ohtani still qualifies as the King of the Diamond. If two or more teams tie for the highest scoring team, all batters on those teams who hit home runs would qualify. For more on tiebreaker scenarios and eligible bets, refer to this article.

Update: 1:00 a.m. ET
No other team reached 14 runs on the night, making the Rays and Diamondbacks the highest scoring teams on the slate.
This means that Yandy Diaz, Eugenio Suarez, Ketel Marte, and Ildemaro Vargas are your Kings of the Diamond for Friday’s slate!
Check back in next Friday, June 27th, for the next King of the Diamond slate.
Update: 11:30 p.m. ET
Well, the tie will not be broken. The Diamondbacks stuck at 14 runs, meaning their three home-run hitters and Yandy Diaz of the Rays are all tied at the top. The Brewers shockingly didn’t give up 15 runs in the bottom of the ninth, so that leaves Tampa Bay and Arizona at the top of our King of the Diamond contest.
Looking across the board, there aren’t many contenders to score 14 or more tonight. Five games are left, and all are in the fifth inning or later. None of the teams in those five games has more than five runs. If there’s a miracle tonight, we will let you know.
Update: 11:12 p.m. ET
While they tried their hardest to keep adding, the Tampa Bay Rays ended up with 14 total runs. That may be enough to claim the crown alone on most nights, but that’s not in the cards tonight. The Arizona Diamondbacks were not to be denied in Coors Field, leading 14-7 against the Rockies. To confirm, that is a baseball game, not a Cardinals-Broncos game.
Somehow 14 runs isn’t even the highest total. The Milwaukee Brewers have put up 17 runs in Minnesota, spearheaded by eight RBI off the bat of Christian Yelich. But, miraculously, no Brewers have gone yard tonight. So, for our purposes, they won’t count for the King of the Diamond contest.
If Arizona can add another, they’d break the tie with the Rays and eliminate Yandy Diaz. If no further runs are scored by the D-Backs, we’d have a four-way tie for the crown. Diaz would be joined by Eugenio Suarez, Ketel Marte, and Ildemaro Vargas. Arizona has one more inning to break the tie. Let’s see what they can do.
Update: 10:46 p.m. ET
Eugenio Suarez sure loves Coors Field. He roped his second homer of the night, tying the Arizona Diamondbacks on the top of our leaderboard.
But, as tonight goes, the lead wasn’t meant to last for long. In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Tampa Bay Rays added three more, bringing their total to 14. It’s another mountain for the Diamondbacks to climb, but it feels attainable at the rate they’re going. As things stand, Yandy remains our King tonight.
Update: 10:22 p.m. ET
NOW things are getting interesting. Courtesy of Nick Castellanos, the Phillies got to 10 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, getting a momentary tie with the Tampa Bay Rays. But the lead did not last for long, as the Rays added on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. And that Phillies game has gone final, taking them out of the running.
Things are getting more dramatic in the mountains as well. The Diamondbacks were up 6-1 in the top of the fourth, only to surrender six runs in the bottom. Arizona responded quickly with a blast off the bat of Eugenio Suarez.
They weren’t done there, getting their third home run in five innings to go up 9-7.
The Rays still have time to add, but the Diamondbacks and Rockies are creeping up. It promises to be a race down to the wire tonight.
Update: 9:54 p.m. ET
Yandy 2x!!!! The Rays first baseman has done it again, putting Tampa Bay up 9-3 going into the sixth inning. They’re starting to pull away from the field. Right now, the best challenger is the Arizona Diamondbacks. They have six runs on the road in Coors Field, where runs can go up in a hurry. Runs four, five, and six came off the bat of Ketel Marte:
That game is in the fourth inning, so the Snakes have plenty of time to pile on.
The Phillies put up a six-run seventh inning to go up 8-2, but have yet to hit a home run, so it’ll take some fireworks to put them over the Rays.
In our final scores, the White Sox won 7-1, and the Rangers and Marlins won 6-2. As the field begins to narrow, all eyes are on Tampa Bay to see if Yandy can be king.
Update: 9:25 p.m. ET
We have new leaders!! Courtesy of Taylor Walls, defensive wizard not known for his defense, the Tampa Bay Rays are on top 8-3.
Jack Flaherty is done.
A single and two walks loaded the bases with one out in the third inning. After that, Taylor Walls cleared the bases with a double — the third runner scored on a fielding error at the end of the play.#Tigers down, 7-3.

This offense just won’t be stopped. They’re at eight runs through three innings and have no intentions of stopping. This would make Yandy Diaz the winner of our King of the Diamond contest if things continue.
There will be challengers. The White Sox are still at seven runs and have another inning to add. The Miami Marlins continue to score. The Cardinals are making a late push, up 6-0 in the seventh. Let’s see if the Rays can add on, or if anyone can catch them.
Update: 8:58 p.m. ET
The Tigers ain’t heard no bell. Riley Greene, who is determined to make the All-Star game, rocked a three-run home run to bring the Tigers within one:
This game has a lot of promise for the night’s highest scorer. It’s 4-3 in the third inning, and both offenses have a lot of fuel in the tank. Let’s see what else they have in store for us.
Update: 8:20 p.m. ET
The White Sox keep piling things on. The third inning turned into a four-run affair for the Southsiders, punctuated by this two-run double off the bat of Josh Rojas:
But their lead may not last for long. The Tampa Bay Rays, baseball’s best offense over the past month, are off to a scorching start. They scored four runs in the first inning, fueled by a leadoff homer courtesy of Yandy Diaz.

The White Sox maintain a three-run lead over the field as of now. That would make Andrew Benintendi and Luis Robert Jr. the Kings of the Diamond. Let’s see if anyone can catch them.
Update: 7:52 p.m. ET
Andrew Benintendi seems determined to get a win for the White Sox and the King of the Diamond crown. His RBI single in the second inning tied the Sox at the top of the runs leaderboard.
He’s not alone in his quest. Luis Robert Jr. put a ball clean into orbit to make it 5-0 in Toronto. It’s the longest home run by a White Sox player all season long, coming in at 441 feet.
Don’t count out other teams just set. Agustín Ramírez always seems to be in the running, and his three-run shot puts the Marlins up 4-0 in the third inning. Corey Seager also ripped a solo blast to put the Rangers up 4-2. The runs are coming fast now.
Update: 7:27 p.m. ET
The Rangers have put their home run stamp on things. This shot by Adolis Garcia gave Texas a 3-0 lead and puts them at the top of our leaderboard.
While it may be a short-lived lead, Adolis home run ticket holders will treasure this moment at the top for as long as it lasts.
Update: 7:15 p.m. ET
Our Friday slate got off to a bang in Toronto. White Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi put an absolute charge into this ball:
That’s our second team on the board this evening. The Texas Rangers already have two runs, but no home runs. As more first pitches come in, check in with us for updates all night.
