The Texas Rangers scored three runs while the Houston Astros scored four runs.

The Astros trailed the Rangers 3-0 and didn’t have a hit off of Jack Leiter until two-outs into the seventh inning. By the time top of the eighth inning ended Leiter was charged with three runs, set up man Chris Martin had left a game injured after one pitch for the second time in few days, and Texas trailed 4-3.

The Rangers didn’t score again despite hitting lasers right at gloves and lost.

That game was frustrating.

Go Stars!

Player of the Game: Leiter deserved better, but hey don’t we all. Well, maybe not home plate umpire Nick Mahrley.

Up Next: The Rangers get a day off tomorrow before opening up a series against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Neither team has announced a starter for the opener.

The first pitch in Tuesday’s opener from the Bronx is scheduled for 6:05 pm CT and will be back on the Rangers Sports Network.
