Max Scherzer gets the ball for the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday night in Game 4 against the Seattle Mariners, with his team trailing 2-1in the American League Championship Series.

Scherzer and the Blue Jays are +108 underdogs on the moneyline for Game 4 on FanDuel, with Seattle priced at -126.

This will be Scherzer’s first postseason appearance this season after being left off of Toronto’s roster for the American League Divisional Series.

The 41-year-old righty logged 85 innings for Toronto in the regular season, finishing the season with a 5.19 ERA and 82 strikeouts.

Scherzer last pitched in the playoffs two years ago when he threw 9.2 innings over three starts with the Texas Rangers on his way to the second World Series ring of his career.

Scherzer’s out total for Game 4 of the ALCS sits at 11.5 on FanDuel with the over priced at +106.

Scherzer logged at least 12 outs in 15 of his 17 starts this season. However, thanks to Game 3 starter Shane Bieber going six innings in a blowout win, and an off day on Tuesday, the Blue Jays bullpen is fresh and could be called at any point of the game.

On the heels of that huge Game 3 win, Toronto’s odds to reach the World Series have moved back in their direction, but they remain sizeable underdogs after opening as the favourite.
