TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – The Tucson Baseball Team (TBT) is seeking clarity on player visa statuses, which has delayed their opening home series at the Kino Sports Complex.

This comes after a meeting with the Vice Consul from the U.S. Consulate General in Hermosillo, which revealed that the U.S. Consulate General’s office is not the correct venue to resolve this issue.

Now, TBT is turning to the Department of Homeland Security and the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) for guidance, according to a memorandum. They are preparing a detailed summary of their business structure to aid in the visa determination process.

The timeline for a decision remains uncertain, especially with the potential impact of a federal government shutdown on USCIS’s review process. TBT is collaborating with local organizations and Arizona Congressional members to expedite the resolution.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
