KALISPELL, Mont. — The startup of baseball in the Flathead Valley received a funding boost from Toyota and the Kalispell Auto Group.

The group donated a total of $80,000 to Glacier and Flathead high schools for the new baseball programs.

The auto group aims to use its funds in the community where it can have the most impact.

They have a passion for schools and sports, and this was a perfect way to decide where the funding would go.

High school baseball aims to start in the spring.

“They have a decent amount of funding that they have to try to get together, and maybe we could alleviate the stress of them trying to go through all the fundraising and the trials and tribulations that go along with that, and say how about how about if we just get you the funding now and just get ready to go be competitive teams,” said Gerrid Gandrud, the owner of Kalispell Auto Group.

The funds will also help with upgrades at Legends Stadium, such as speakers and audio systems.

A home run to start the season!
