Six players have elected free agency as the offseason begins for the White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox roster is undergoing some changes as six players have elected free agency following the conclusion of the season. Outfielders Dominic Fletcher, Joshua Palacios, and Corey Julks, shortstop Jacob Amaya, along with right-handed pitchers Mike Clevinger and Bryse Wilson, are all set to explore potential opportunities away from the South Side.

Who’s Moving On?

Mike Clevinger, a veteran right-hander, saw a challenging 2025 season after being moved to the bullpen. While he struggled mightily in just eight big league appearances, Clevinger posted a 4.20 ERA with 93 strikeouts across 22 starts for Triple-A Charlotte. Still, his future in Chicago now officially closes as he hits the free-agent market.

Joshua Palacios spent the season between the majors and Triple-A, slashing .203/.292/.305 at the big league level, but never quite finding his stride with the White Sox.

Jacob Amaya opened the season as Chicago’s starting shortstop but battled through offensive struggles, finishing with a .106 average, though he did show somewhat better form at Triple-A Charlotte.

Dominic Fletcher was promoted to the majors in September and made some noise with five doubles and a home run in limited at-bats, but much of his 2025 was spent launching a career-best 17 home runs at Triple-A.

Corey Julks appeared in just six games for the White Sox in 2025 but drew attention in Triple-A with 15 home runs and 18 stolen bases.

Bryse Wilson started the season out of the bullpen for the White Sox but also had a brief stint in the starting rotation before being designated for assignment in June and sent to Triple-A Charlotte. The veteran right-hander posted a 6.65 ERA over 20 appearances for the big league club.

What’s Next for the Sox?

The departure of these players opens the door for organizational depth moves and potentially more significant roster changes this winter as the White Sox look to build on the momentum of the second half of the season.
