JOLIET, IL — More than 200 people patronized the hottest new business to open on West Jefferson Street, Goodfellas Cigar Lounge, on Thursday evening to meet one of the greatest Chicago sports athletes of our lifetime, Chicago White Sox Hall of Fame first baseman Frank Thomas.
A long line stretched around Goodfellas between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. and Thomas arrived right on time for his 5 to 8 p.m. three-hour autograph session. Guests purchased a bottle of Thomas’ FT35 vodka or whiskey products, and everyone’s bottle purchase served as their ticket for entry.
Thomas was in a jovial mood, laughing and smiling and greeting Chicago White Sox fans, posing for photos and signing countless autographs, throughout the occasion.
Goodfellas Cigar Lounge is located at 2138 West Jefferson Street, next door to Joliet’s legendary fast-food restaurant, RAX Roast Beef. Thursday night’s event inside Goodfellas also included several cigar vendors on hand to showcase and talk about their products. Everyone who purchased a bottle of FT 35 also received a free $20 store credit at Goodfellas.
“More Than a Smoke, It’s an Experience,” its website proclaims.
