Paul Skenes and Livvy Dunne are soaking up the offseason in style. The Pittsburgh Pirates ace and his gymnast girlfriend jetted off to Italy, where they’ve been sharing glimpses of a well-deserved vacation after a breakout year for Skenes.

While the Pirates missed the playoffs for the 10th straight season, their 22-year-old star gave the team and fans plenty to cheer about — and now he’s giving himself some time to unwind.
Dunne, who has supported Skenes throughout his rookie campaign, posted photos and videos from their getaway this week. One clip on her Instagram Story showed the couple clinking wine glasses while lounging on a boat under the Italian sun.
Another featured Dunne showing off her balance with a perfect headstand on a paddleboard. She later shared a scenic shot from their stay in Sicily with the caption highlighting their view of the Mediterranean coast.
Skenes has every reason to relax. The right-hander went 10-10 with a 1.97 ERA in 32 starts, striking out 216 batters across 187 2/3 innings — numbers that make him the clear favorite for the National League Cy Young Award.

Dunne, a social media star and former LSU gymnast, backed his campaign from start to finish, even clapping back at fans who tried to troll her during his final outing of the year.
For now, baseball can wait. Skenes and Dunne look perfectly content trading the pitcher’s mound for the Italian Riviera — and a little sunshine before awards season arrives.
