Kevin Schnall, the Coastal Carolina baseball coach, has received a contract extension through the 2030 season, the school announced this week.

“I’m honored and grateful to receive a contract extension from an institution that means so much to my family and me,’’ said Schnall, in a press release. “We couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished as a program, especially bringing Coastal baseball back to Omaha in 2025.’’

Schnall grew up in Hamilton Township and was a standout catcher at Notre Dame High.

Schnall capped off an historic first season as head coach in 2025 by guiding the Chanticleers to their first College World Series appearance since 2016.

Coastal Carolina posted a nation-leading and school-record 56 wins under his leadership, capturing titles in the Sun Belt Conference regular season, Sun Belt Tournament, Conway Regional, Auburn Super Regional, and a perfect 3-0 sweep in Omaha to reach the Men’s College World Series Championship Final. The Chanticleers ended the season riding a 26-game winning streak — the fourth-longest in NCAA Division I over the past five years.

Named the 2025 National Coach of the Year by Baseball America, Schnall became the first rookie head coach to ever receive the honor. He also earned Coach of the Year accolades from the Sun Belt Conference, Perfect Game, and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Atlantic Region.
