PORTLAND, Maine – The Royals earned their first win of the season by blanking Maine 4-0 on Sunday at Cross Insurance Arena.
Goaltender Keith Petruzzelli stopped 32 shots to post the sixth shutout of his professional career. Artem Kulakov, Jordan Frasca, Nick Capone and Connor McMenamin all scored for Reading who improved to 1-0-1 on the opening weekend of the season.
The Royals are next in action on Friday to begin a weekend series at Greensboro.
