The 2025 Milwaukee Brewers certainly left their mark in franchise history.

But in the end, the playoff run that began with jubilation ends with a familiar feeling: falling short of the World Series.

However, a Brewers legend is commending the team on all it accomplished in 2025 despite the team getting swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.

“Hell of a season by the Brewers,” CC Sabathia wrote on X following the team’s 5-1 loss in Game 4 as Shohei Ohtani delivered a playoff game for the ages on the mound (10 strikeouts and only allowing two hits in six innings) and at the plate (three enormous home runs). “Love that city and the way the fans showed out all season, salute.”

Just six days earlier, Sabathia was among the Wisconsin sports stars who were celebrating the Brewers’ big National League Division Series win over the Chicago Cubs.

But any momentum from that series victory didn’t carry over against the Dodgers when they faced Blake SnellYoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, Max Muncy and the rest of the Dodgers.

Sabathia wasn’t the only one taking a moment to recognize the Brewers.

Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez, an analyst for TBS during the MLB playoffs, added: “I must take this moment to congratulate the Milwaukee Brewers. Everyone in the organization from Pat Murphy to the clubhouse. Keep up the good work. We’re proud of you. Your future is so bright. God bless you!”

Here’s the mood of Brewers fans after the season ended:

Just numb. Not mad, not sad. A slow, painful and embarrassing finish

Others are looking on the bright side and remembering the team that produced the most wins in franchise history, a third straight division title and countless memories:

Tough end to a great season. It hurts because we love the Brewers. The grit, heart, and passion they played with reflect who we are in Wisconsin. The team took on the personality of the fans—and vice versa. No parade this year, but so much to be proud of. The future’s bright!

in all seriousness, i’ll never forget the 2025 milwaukee brewers season

thank you

Magical season for the @Brewers. Ended ugly but they ran into a freight train at the wrong time. Most wins in franchise history is not to be taken lightly. Pat Murphy will continue to lead a special culture w/ some great young talent in the pipeline.

Thank you for a special ’25.

The Brewers came up short but this was an incredible season for a team that I had virtually zero expectations for coming into the year. To win 97 games, the division and a playoff series with this roster is nothing short of incredible. Future is bright, can’t wait for next year.

And with that, the 2025 Brewers season comes to an end.

I know they felt short of the ultimate goal, but man, that one was special.
