Brewers’ Sal Frelick talks about his involvement in community service

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick keeps a full schedule, splitting his time between baseball and contributing to the local community.

For the Milwaukee Brewers to win their first playoff series since 2018, they’ll have to go through their biggest rival: the Chicago Cubs.

It’s the Brewers vs the Cubs for the first time in the playoffs.

The two NL Central rivals will square off in the 2025 National League Division Series with Game 1 beginning Oct. 4 at American Family Field.

Adding to the dramatics, of course, is former Brewers manager and Wisconsinite Craig Counsell facing his old team. Counsell, who has the most wins as a manager in Brewers history, left Milwaukee after the 2023 season for a record-setting contract with the Cubs.

Chicago played its way into the NLDS by defeating the San Diego Padres in a three-game wild card series that concluded Oct. 2. The top-seeded Brewers have been waiting for their opponent after earning a bye past the wild-card round.

The winner of the best-of-five NLDS advances to the National League Championship Series to face either the Philadelphia Phillies or Los Angeles Dodgers.

The only series the Brewers won between the teams came at the end of July when they won two in the three-game set.

The season series ended with five games over four days from Aug. 18-21. After the Brewers won the opener, the Cubs took the next three, including a doubleheader on the second day, before Milwaukee restored order with a 4-1 win to close out the season series.
