After losing the first two games, Toronto has beaten Seattle in three of the last four. With the season on the line Sunday, the Blue Jays beat the Mariners 6-2 to tie the series at three wins apiece.
The stars have shined for both teams throughout the postseason. Toronto first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has six home runs and 12 RBIs in 10 games, hitting .462 with a 1.532 OPS. Guerrero has three home runs this series, with one coming in each of the Blue Jays’ wins. He leads Toronto in every notable statistical hitting category.
Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh has a team-high four home runs this postseason, three of which were against Toronto. He’s hitting .302 with a 1.028 OPS through 11 games.
Guerrero and Raleigh will be relied upon in the biggest MLB game of the season to date.
The winner won’t have any easy path to winning the World Series. The Dodgers have dominated this postseason, winning 9 of 10 games. Shohei Ohtani pitched six shutout innings in the closeout game, striking out 10 batters while also hitting three home runs himself.
