The Minnesota Twins have yet to make a hire as a replacement for fired manager Rocco Baldelli. This list of candidates has grown though, and one local reporter even called for them to interview Joe Maddon.
So far it has been murky as to what specifically Derek Falvey is targeting in his next hire. Experience and background has run the gamut, although no one from the college ranks has presently been connected.
The next name to emerge managed for nearly a decade and just recently was dismissed by the Seattle Mariners. Scott Servais could be back in the dugout for Minnesota though.
Scott Servais to interview for Minnesota Twins manager job
The Seattle Mariners employed Scott Servais as their manager from 2016 through 2024. He was replaced with Dan Wilson in 2024, and Wilson now has Seattle on the precipice of their first World Series appearance. The Star Tribune’s LaVelle E. Neal is reporting that Servais has been added to the Twins list of candidates.
Add Vance Wilson and Scott Servais to the list of managerial candidates as the Twins continue to search for a replacement for Rocco Baldelli, who was fired three weeks ago.
Servais, born in La Crosse, Wis., managed the Mariners from 2016 until he was dismissed in August 2024 during a second-half collapse in which Seattle blew a 10-game division lead. He went 668-624 with Seattle, with one playoff appearance in 2023 as a wild card. He spent the 2025 season as a special assistant for player development with the Padres.
Like Wilson, Servais, 58, is a former catcher, having played 11 seasons in the majors.
Wilson was a previously known name to interview with Minnesota, but this is the first mention of Servais. In 11 major league seasons, Servais played 820 games with a career .245/.306/.375 slash line. As the Mariners manager, he owned a 680-642 record (.514 winning percentage) while reaching the ALDS in 2022.
Interestingly, Servais was a recent guest on former Minnesota Twins general manager Thad Levine’s Rosters to Rings podcast. He represented himself incredibly well on the episode, and the idea of him as a manager seemed intriguing.
“Everybody says we need to have more leaders in our clubhouse. I don’t think we do a good enough job of creating, and teaching, and coaching up leadership.” – Scott Servais on @RostersToRings https://t.co/9qaLrxK7xg

Servais spent 2025 working with the San Diego Padres as a special assistant. He joins Nick Punto as candidates to interview with for the Twins opening after spending this season in San Diego.
Expect Minnesota to name a new manager sometime before the end of the month. Rocco Baldelli was hired in 2018 on October 24. A second, and final, interview could come for a candidate next week.
