(NewsNation) — The 2025 NCAA National Champion Louisiana State University baseball team met with President Donald Trump for a ceremony at the White House Monday afternoon.

Speaker of the house Mike Johnson, who is from Louisiana and represents the state’s 4th congressional district, had the honor of introducing LSU’s head coach Jay Johnson at the event.

The LSU-Shreveport baseball team, who are the 2025 NAIA National Champions and finished with the first undefeated season in college baseball history, were also honored during the ceremony.

“Two amazing seasons, two incredible teams to celebrate,” Trump said at the ceremony.

According to the LSU Athletics website, this is the team’s third trip to the White House. The 1991 National Championship team met with former President George H.W. Bush during a Rose Garden ceremony that also included MLB legends Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams.

In 2009, the National Champions were greeted by former Vice President Joe Biden during their visit to the White House.

The champions arrived in Washington, D.C. on Sunday night and visited the Capitol on Monday ahead of their trip to the White House.
