The Los Angeles Dodgers are widely perceived to be the biggest bully on the block.

Opposing fan bases hate them, many pundits question whether the franchise is ruining baseball with its impressive spending, and the thought of this team becoming more star-studded is something few will be able to swallow.

The Dodgers should sign Kyle Tucker in the offseason. Just keep stacking as many stars as possible and keep going back to the World Series.

Based on the report of one noteworthy pundit, these “haters”may want to brace themselves for an even more impressive Dodgers roster next season.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post recently put out an article in which he analyzed the upcoming free agent market of star outfielder Kyle Tucker. The 28-year-old is widely projected to be the best position player available this winter.

“Will the rich get richer? The Dodgers are expected to make a play for No. 1 free agent Kyle Tucker, who’d fit nicely into the National League’s best lineup,” Heyman wrote.

“Dodgers people are said to love Tucker, and outfield is their one area of less than great strength. While their payroll is already an MLB-record $400M, they did try for last year’s No. 1 free agent, Juan Soto, with an offer of about $600M (with deferrals, of course) before bowing out and finishing fifth among five finalists in the biggest free agent derby ever.”

Heyman then theorizes on what a potential outfield may look like with Tucker in the fold.

“The Dodgers could install Tucker in right field and move Teoscar Hernández to left, giving them a potentially productive outfield to go along with the game’s most star-studded infield. The one tiny negative is that Tucker is a left-handed hitter, which would make them slightly unbalanced.”

There’s virtually no chance Michael Conforto re-signs with the team given his season-long struggles in 2025. Tucker would represent a clear upgrade given the production and talent he brings to the table. As it pertains to the Dodgers, Tucker appears to be a seamless fit given his ability to get on base and work counts.

As the graphic demonstrates above (courtesy of Baseball Savant), Tucker’s offensive prowess is real. In the event he makes up one-third of the Tucker-Hernandez-Pages outfield, it would enable the Dodgers to have Tommy Edman man the second base spot on a full-time basis.

Additionally, the Dodgers could opt to go younger with Edman in center, Hyeseong Kim at second base, and Hernandez used as trade bait. Los Angeles also has a host of very good outfield prospects in the minor leagues (Zyhir Hope, Mike Sirota, Josue De Paula, Eduardo Quintero, Kendall George, James Tibbs III).

When zooming out at the larger picture, the Dodgers have as many options as any team in the big leagues given their organizational depth and deep pockets.
