MALVERN — This week the hometown Malvern Jr. Leopard-Cubs return home for conference action against Fountain Lake.

Malvern had three tough and close defeats on the road against Bauxite at The Pit. The seventh grade Cubs suffered their first conference loss—but are ready to bounce back strong against Fountain Lake for the hometown Leopard Stadium fans.

Malvern’s eighth grade took a close loss to Bauxite 12-6 and the junior high ninth grade fought hard in defeat to Bauxite 14-8.

Malvern junior high football head coach Jordan Caple was proud of the competitive effort by the Cubs and looks toward an important bounce back performance this week facing Fountain Lake.

“It was a competitive game with the score neck and neck the entire time, but ultimately we had a couple of mistakes that led to us losing the game. We’re frustrated with the loss, but I do feel that we will use it as fuel to prepare even harder for our game against Fountain Lake,” Caple said.

The Cubs’ Terrence Hawkins caught a pass from quarterback Trevor Hodges Malvern’s touchdown play against Bauxite last week.
