Juan Soto discusses Mets’ failure despite lofty expectations for 2025
After the Mets were eliminated from playoff contention on the season’s final day, Juan Soto discussed what went wrong on Sept. 28, 2025, in Miami.
Francisco Lindor has played through his fair share of bumps and bruises during his Mets tenure and the 2025 season was no different.
The Mets shortstop recently underwent a right elbow debridement procedure, the club announced Wednesday. The process is done to remove damaged tissue or debris from the elbow joint. Lindor is expected to be ready for spring training.
In addition to playing with a balky elbow, Lindor also played the through a fractured pinkie toe for roughly three months in 2025. He only missed two games during the season — one following the toe injury and another for the birth of his first son in late March.
Lindor has become one of the league’s renowned ironmen. He led Major League Baseball with 732 plate appearances and the National League with 644 at-bats despite the two maladies
In his fifth season with the Mets, Lindor continued to be the team’s tone-setter, slashing .267/.346/.466 with 31 home runs, 86 RBI, 117 runs, 35 doubles and 31 stolen bases. He earned his fifth All-Star selection and first as a member of the Mets.
Lindor has played in at least 160 games in three of the last four seasons. He missed time down the stretch in 2024 with a balky balk — still finishing with 152 games — before delivering as one of the Mets’ late-season heroes in their journey to the National League Championship Series.
He missed two games in the 2023 season with right side soreness and underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from his right elbow following that season.
