MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Brewers gave general manager Matt Arnold a further vote of confidence Thursday, adding president of baseball operations to his list of roles.

The move comes on the heels of the winningest regular season in franchise history, a third consecutive division title and a trip to the National League Championship Series.

“Matt has been at the center of our success, guiding a talented baseball operations group that is respected and admired throughout the industry,” Brewers owner Mark Attanasio said. “We are proud of what Matt has accomplished and even more excited for what the future holds under his leadership.”

Arnold joined the Brewers in 2015 as vice president and assistant general manager under David Stearns. After Stearns was promoted to president of baseball operations, Arnold was promoted to general manager in 2020. When Stearns stepped down in 2022, Arnold began overseeing baseball operations.

Last year, Arnold was named MLB Executive of the Year, becoming the first Brewers executive to earn the honor.

“I am humbled and honored to be a part of what we have built in Milwaukee,” Arnold said. “This is a truly a team effort, led by the great support from ownership to the tremendous contributions of our baseball operations department, field staff and all of the outstanding players in the organization over the years.”

The Brewers have had some of their most successful seasons since Arnold joined the team. In his 10 seasons with the club, the Brewers have accumulated the fifth-best record in MLB, made seven postseason appearances and won five National League Central Division titles.

Prior to Arnold and Stearns’ arrival, the Brewers had only made four postseason appearances in franchise history with one of those coming in the strike-shortened 1981 season.

Before he joined the Brewers, Arnold worked in the Tampa Bay Rays’ front office and was with the franchise with the Rays appeared in the 2008 World Series.
