The Yankees have had themselves a nice little run, winning their fourth straight series by taking the rubber match of the Subway Series. They held Juan Soto in check throughout his first return to the Bronx since leaving in free agency, got a massive weekend from Cody Bellinger capped off by a grand slam on Sunday, and continued to see excellent results from their starting rotation.

They haven’t ripped off a six or seven-game win streak yet, but this has arguably been the best and most consistent form that the Yankees have been in this season. These four series wins are easily the longest streak they’ve been on as the season approaches the two month mark, and coupled with some faulty play from the rest of the division they’re seeing their first real separation in the standings. How long can they keep it going with some softball teams in the immediate future? Will they see a serious winning streak sometime soon, or continue taking two out of three to stack up a lead in the AL East? Where do they stand compared to some of the other emerging contenders as we approach Memorial Day weekend?
