MILWAUKEE — Despite the loss of the NLCS, the Brewers finished with one of their strongest seasons.

The team ended with a franchise-record 97 wins. They also earned their third consecutive National League Central Division championship.

The Milwaukee Brewers have also appointed Matt Arnold to president of baseball operations and general manager. Arnold joined the Brewers in 2015 as vice president and assistant general manager.

“I’ve never really been focused on titles at all, honestly. It’s just been something where you keep your head down and you work hard and good things will happen,” says Arnold. “It’s a great situation. I’m proud to be here in Milwaukee.”

Arnold is also one of several Brewers executives and players to win an end-of-season award. He was named MLB Executive of the Year by The Sporting News.

Christian Yelich won National League Comeback Player of the Year after recovering from a season-ending back surgery in August 2-24. Brice Turang was named to publication’s National League All-Star team at second base after batting .288.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy was awarded National League Manager of the Year.

“I’m just constantly asking, how can we get better? How can I get better?,” says Murphy. “I don’t look at it as like, how do we get to that point? I don’t think there’s ever been a team [Dodgers] at that point. We end up in these situations and hopefully, we’re playing our best.”
