The Fall Classic has arrived, and it is a matchup of rather epic proportions. The defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers will head north to face Canada’s team, the Toronto Blue Jays.

It’s no surprise that the Dodgers find themselves right back in the World Series. This year’s squad is almost identical to the one that took home the Commission’s Trophy 12 months ago. And although they have had their perennial health issues with the pitching staff, it seems like everything has been clicking on that front since the postseason began.

The Jays are more of a surprise if you think about their preseason perception. But they spent like a team that wanted to win games in 2025. Vlad Guerrero Jr. got paid. They beefed up the bullpen. Anthony Santander was brought on to add some thump. And they were able to play a brand of baseball that just works. As annoying as it may be as a fellow AL East fan, it is fun to watch them on the field.

LHP Blake Snell, 3-0, 0.86 ERA in the 2025 postseason

Snell has been incredible for the Dodgers this postseason, and he is even giving them length. The lefty has averaged seven innings per start in the playoffs, including eight shutout frames 11 days ago against Milwaukee. He hasn’t allowed any runs since the Wild Card round, and has given up just two hits total across his last two starts.

RHP Trey Yesavage, 2-1, 4.20 ERA in 2025 postseason

It has been an incredible season for Yesavage. He began the year in Low-A, and went on to pitch at three additional minor league levels before debuting for the Blue Jays on September. Now, he starts Game 1 of the World Series. There is no doubt that the 22-year-old is talented, as he demonstrated against the Yankees in the ALDS (5.1 shutout innings, no hits, 1 walk, 11 strikeouts). But he wasn’t nearly as good in the ALCS and is an unknown variable on this type of stage.
