The Houston Astros are expanding their number of Spanish-language TV broadcasts this year, with a slate of 26 games between June 24 and the end of the regular season in September.
The “Los Astros” broadcasts will air on the alternate channel for the Space City Home Network, a regional sports network owned as a joint venture between the Astros and Houston Rockets. The network is available via cable, satellite and over-the-top (OTT) providers in Texas as well as Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and eastern New Mexico.
Fifteen Astros games were televised in Spanish in 2023, followed by 17 games in 2024.
“Space City Home Network is thrilled to bring Houston Astros baseball to our viewers in Spanish for the third consecutive season,” Jim Colasanto, the network’s general manager, said in a Monday news release. “This year, we have expanded our Spanish-language coverage to include even more games, reinforcing our commitment to serving Houston’s diverse fan base.”
The Spanish-language broadcast crew will again include Enrique Vasquez and Danny Gonzalez, who have worked on the Astros’ Spanish-language radio broadcasts, along with Gene Flores, a former University of Houston baseball star and longtime head coach at Clear Brook High School.
The 26 home games to be televised in Spanish include matchups against the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies and Texas Rangers. The Astros’ last six regular-season home games, between Sept. 15 and Sept. 21, will be broadcast in Spanish to coincide with Hispanic Heritage Month.
“The Astros have a long history of offering best in class Spanish-language radio broadcasts — and for the last few seasons, TV broadcasts,” Anita Sehgal, the Astros’ vice president of marketing and communications, said in the news release. “We are excited to offer even more Los Astros Spanish-language TV broadcast options in 2025 as we continue to create fan experiences that are meaningful for all our fans.”
English-language TV broadcasts of Astros games will continue to air on the primary channel for Space City Home Network.
