BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — The Baltimore Orioles have announced Craig Albernaz will be the club’s next manager.

Albernaz, 42, was the associate manager of the Cleveland Guardians, spending 2025 in that role after serving as the team’s bench coach in 2024. He’s also spent time with the San Francisco Giants and in the Tampa Bay Rays minor league system as a coach.

He is replacing Tony Mansolino, who served as interim manager for most of 2025 after Brandon Hyde’s firing in May.

“We are elated to welcome Craig Albernaz as the next manager of the Orioles and our leader on the field,” said Orioles President of Baseball Operations and General Manager, Mike Elias, via a press release. “Craig has built an exemplary career across multiple successful organizations and brings a tremendous amount of experience, knowledge, and talent to our organization and to this new challenge. We believe he is the right person at the right time to elevate our baseball operations and guide our team back to the playoffs and a World Series Championship.”

“I am deeply honored and humbled to join the storied Baltimore Orioles organization,” said Albernaz, via a press release. “This is a tremendous honor, and I’m grateful to Mike Elias and the entire Orioles team for entrusting me with the responsibility of leading this talented club.”

Albernaz will be introduced to the media on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
