Central Coast Athletic Association (CCAA) members St. Joseph and Lompoc moved through the first round of the CIF Central Section Baseball Playoffs Friday.

No. 5 St. Joseph beat No. 12 Bakersfield Frontier 4-2 in the first round in Division 1. No. 4 Lompoc advanced with a 4-1 win over No. 13 Bakersfield Garces Memorial in Division 2.

Here is a glance at how (CCAA) baseball teams fared in the first round. Quarterfinals in all divisions will take place Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. In the Central Section playoffs, the higher seed is the host team in each round.

Mason Majewski pitched a four-hit complete game, and the Mountain League champions (22-6) scored a big win against a seasoned playoffs program. Majewski struck out 10 batters and walked one. 

Connor Chanley had two hits and two RBIs for St. Joseph Friday. Erik Furness, the St. Joseph home run leader with 10, didn’t homer Friday, but he did have two hits, including a double, and an RBI.

St. Joseph will host No. 13 Visalia Redwood (21-7) Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The Rangers upset No. 4 Clovis East 4-2. Frontier finished 16-13.

In other Division 1 action, No. 14 Righetti lost 2-0 at No. 3 Fresno Bullard. The Warriors finished 16-12.

In a division stacked with CCAA teams – eight of them – Lompoc advanced with a win over Garces.

The Rams out-hit the Braves 4-3, but Lompoc snapped a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fifth inning and moved through. Each team had one RBI.

Lompoc left-hander Jack Jones struck out nine and walked no one in a four-hit complete game. The senior set the Lompoc career strikeouts record during the regular season.

Freshman Max Jones had the lone Lompoc RBI. The Braves (14-12) will host No. 5 Bakersfield Ridgeview (18-11) Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the quarterfinals.  Ridgeview beat No. 12 Templeton, a CCAA member, 3-0 in the first round.

In two all-CCAA match-ups, No. 6 Arroyo Grande defeated Sunset League co-champion and No. 11 seed San Luis Obispo 6-1, and No. 10 Paso Robles upset No. 7 Mission Prep 6-3. Paso Robles won a share of the Sunset League championship.

Arroyo Grande (13-15-1) will play at No. 3 Fresno Washington Union (24-5) in the quarterfinals, and Paso Robles (15-11) will play at No. 2 Kingsburg (19-10). Kingsburg beat No. 15 Atascadero, a CCAA member, 3-1 in the first round.

No. 9 Cabrillo lost 11-1 at No. 8 Sanger. The Conquistadores finished 11-13. 

No. 3 Morro Bay 5, No. 14 Fresno Justin Garza 4

The Ocean League champions (24-5) moved through and will host No. 6 Tulare Mission Oak (18-8-1) in the quarterfinals.

CCAA members Santa Ynez and Nipomo both went down. No. 1 Lemoore beat No. 16 Santa Ynez 4-0, and No. 5 Hanford West defeated No. 12 Nipomo 8-4.

Santa Ynez finished 11-11. Nipomo finished 9-16.

Fillmore 7, Valley Christian Academy 2

The Coast Valley League champions went out in the first round at Fillmore. The Lions finished 9-7.Â
