The Blue Jays and Dodgers played 18 innings and Los Angeles won on a Freddie Freeman homer 6-5. What. A. Game.

Interesting moment last night as Roki Sasaki faced Myles Straw in the 9th with runners on first and second and two outs. The Guardians trade Straw to the Blue Jays as part of a deal to get the Jays more international spending money in an effort to sign Sasaki. Straw hit one of his patented groundballs to the left side of the infield, but, in his defense, no one is hitting Sasaki well right now.

Do not understand how manager John Schneider chose to pitch to Shohei Ohtani with one out and no one on in the bottom of the 7th with a one-run lead, but I do hope Stephen Vogt was watching that and remembering when the Guardians asked Tanner Bibee to pitch around Giancarlo Stanton in game 5 of the 2024 ALDS. Pitching around a guy is not as easy as it sounds.

I enjoyed this satirical article from FanGraphs’ Davy Andrews on the appearance of the Jonas Brothers in game two of the World Series.

Guardians’ prospect Joe Lampe had a triple and a home run for the Surprise Saguaros on Sunday, driving in two of their three runs and scoring the other.
