Apparently the Dodgers and Blue Jays went 18 innings last night. I haven’t watched a single postseason inning, but I have followed along most games, and I quit this one in the seventh for various reasons not related to the game itself. So, waking up to, “Oh man, another 18-inning postseason game” was a bit of a start.
That’s not to say I haven’t watched any 18-inning postseason games. I was on a business trip when the Dodgers and Red Sox went to 18 a few years ago, and I watched most of the conclusion of that game out of a lack of anything better to do, so I remember that one fairly well. And, of course, I imagine many/most of you had their eyes glued to the screen for the ultimately-awful Chris Burke game, which I’ve mentioned many a time is a core memory for me at this point. I watched all 18 of that one.
