Like six hours after former Texas Rangers World Series starting pitcher Max Scherzer exited his Game 3 start last night for the Toronto Blue Jays, the Los Angeles Dodgers earned a walk-off win in 18 innings to take a 2-1 series lead in this year’s Fall Classic.
Notably, Shohei Ohtani had his second game for the ages in like ten days with a 4-for-4 night with two doubles, two home runs, and five walks as he tied the all-time record for times reached base in a single game with nine. The nine times on bases — which included four consecutive intentional walks — set an all-time playoff record. Oh yeah, Ohtani is also scheduled to be the starting pitcher for the Dodgers in Game 4 tonight.
Kennedi Landry offers an offseason primer on the Rangers as they look to navigate their way back to October glory themselves.
