This week, we tackle a thorny problem for the White Sox: Strengthening a weak roster, one that has now yielded three consecutive 100-loss seasons.
With little steadfast, immediate help in the minors (particularly on the hitting side), GM Chris Getz absolutely must seek outside talent in trade or through free agency for his team to continue improving. As much as the overconfident exec feels the inertia of the season’s second half will carry his club through 2026, the club’s pace after the All-Star break was still just 70-92. That “youth movement” bump alone would see a 10-game improvement — splendid, but also the minimum mark for a team purportedly on the rise to contention. And scant depth at almost every spot on the diamond leaves the White Sox very vulnerable to injury losses.
So, which spot needs the most imperative attention?
