Reds pitcher Hunter Greene talks about his MLB playoff debut, Wild Card loss to Dodgers
The Cincinnati Reds outrighted relief pitcher Ian Gibaut to Triple-A Louisville, according to the team’s minor-league transactions.
Gibaut can opt to reject the assignment and become a free agent.
Gibaut posted a 4.62 ERA in 25 appearances for the Reds last season, his fourth with the team.
In August, Gibaut underwent surgery to repair his labrum and reattach his biceps tendon to his upper arm.
He also spent part of the season on the injured list with a shoulder impingement.
Gibaut had a blown save in the Reds’ Opening Day loss to the San Francisco Giants this past season.
Gibaut appeared in a career-high 73 games during the 2023 season for Cincinnati.
