The dream of a lifetime.

Imagine being a Major League pitcher and you’re called upon to be the starting pitcher in Game 1 of the American League Championship series.

Bryce Miller doesn’t have to wonder about that because he recently did it for the Seattle Mariners.

The Big League pitcher from New Braunfels is back in the area after a very successful post season, not only for him, but with his Mariner teammates who made it to baseball’s Final Four.

Bryce earned the honor despite a 2025 season that was filled with its various challenges. He was coming of a season the year before where he was a Top 20 pitcher in baseball but had to battle through arm issues this season, only to return late and become a post-season hero .

Miller pitched 14 post-season innings and sported an earned run average around 2.5; thrown into the fire more than once on short rest.

Bryce beat the Jays in the ALCS opener and all told, held his opponents, Detroit and Toronto to a .200 batting average against him.

Bryce is back home now, and proud of his team’s accomplishments, eventually losing a hotly contested series against the Jays in a classic 7-gamer.

Max Sports caught up with Bryce at his old stomping grounds, that pretty new ball park his high school alma mater now has at New Braunfels High School.

But a post season to remember, especially since his parents got to watch him pitch in person his second outing in the ALCS when the series switched back to Seattle.
