Yankees offseason news, free agency analysis by Pete Caldera, Anthony McCarron
Pete Caldera, Yankees beat writer for The Record and NorthJersey.com, and SNY’s Anthony McCarron discuss potential Yankees moves this winter.
One win away.
That’s what the Blue Jays need to do in order to capture their first World Series title in 32 years.
With the series tied at 1-1 after Game 2, Toronto won two of three in Los Angeles, with the only loss being a 6-5 defeat in 18 innings in Game 3, where Dodgers’ first baseman Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off home run to take a 2-1 series lead at the time.

Since then, it’s been all Blue Jays. Toronto outscored the Dodgers 12-3 over the past two contests, a 6-2 victory in Game 4 to even the series followed by a 6-1 win in Game 5 to take a 3-2 series lead.
History is on Toronto’s side, as 67% of teams that win Game 5 in a 2-2 series have gone on to win the World Series.
The Blue Jays will now be aiming to reach the pinnacle of the sport back at home in front of their die-hard fans on Friday night.
It won’t be easy for Toronto, who get set to face Yoshinobu Yamamoto for the second time this series. The Dodgers ace went the distance in Game 2, where he threw a complete game and allowed only one run on four hits with eight strikeouts to tie the series at 1-1.
Will the Blue Jays be crowned World Series champions tonight or will the Dodgers force a winner-take-all Game 7 tomorrow night?
