PADUCAH, Ky. — Paducah Tilghman High School baseball coach Tremayne Donald was suspended after he was arrested Thursday on a charge of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) with minor injury.

According to a report obtained from the Paducah Police Department through an open records request, officers responded to a physical disturbance at a home at about 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 30.
When officers arrived, they saw a woman pulling out of the driveway, according to the report. Officers said when the woman stopped and got out of the car, a braid of hair fell onto the driveway, and she said Donald ripped it out. She said she was attempting to leave the home when Donald grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head into the wall and floor multiple times, the report read. Officers said she also told them Donald grabbed her by the neck, choking her.
Officers said the woman complained of head pain but declined medical attention.
According to the report, officers found Donald inside a bedroom, and claimed he smelled heavily of alcohol. They also said they found an earring on the floor in the hallway.
In a statement Friday afternoon, Paducah Public Schools confirmed Donald was suspended pending investigation. The statement reads: “After learning about charges filed against one of our athletic coaches, Paducah Public Schools took swift action to suspend the employee pending investigation. Personnel matters are confidential, but the district has a high level of expectation for our staff.”
