If you were able to keep up with former Texas A&M pitcher Brad Rudis at all during his time with the Williamsport Crosscutters of the MLB Draft League, then you knew a deal was coming soon. On Saturday, Rudis confirmed via social media that he signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins.
It was a bit surprising to see Rudis go undrafted, but that didn’t slow him down one bit. He was lights out for the Crosscutters, posting a 3.05 ERA across 56 innings pitched. He showcased his versatility, starting 10 of his 17 appearances, which included strong relief outings that earned him two saves.
By the end of the season, his 69 strikeouts set a team record and tied for the second-most in the league. He also received several post-season accolades. Rudis was named the team’s Rankin Johnson Pitcher of the Year and was selected to the MLB Draft League 2025 All-Second Half Team.
Rudis demonstrated a lot of promising qualities during his time in the MLB Draft League, and now he’ll have the opportunity to prove himself at the next level.
