CLEVELAND — Guardians outfielder Steven Kwan is batting 1.000 when it comes to collecting Gold Gloves.

Kwan, who this past season earned his second All-Star selection, was named a recipient of a 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award for his defense in left field. Since making his debut in 2022, Kwan has now gone 4-for-4 winning Gold Gloves in his four years in the majors.

In 2025, Kwan earned 22 Defensive Runs Saved, which led all major league outfielders. Boston’s Ceddanne Rafaela was second with 20 DRS. No other outfielder topped 16. Kwan also led the majors with 13 outfield assists.

In the four years since Kwan made his MLB debut, only Daulton Varsho has more Defensive Runs Saved among outfielders, with 85. Kwan has 63, more than 20 above Fernando Tatis Jr., in third (42).

Kwan was nearly traded at the deadline, but the Guardians chose to hold onto their All-Star left fielder, which in part helped lead to the improbable September run that won them a second consecutive AL Central crown. Kwan is under club control for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

Kwan’s four-year run of Gold Gloves to begin a career is the third-longest in major league history, behind Nolan Arenado and Ichiro Suzuki, who both won 10 in a row. He is also just the fourth player in Cleveland baseball history to win at least four consecutive Gold Gloves, joining Omar Vizquel (1994-2001), Kenny Lofton (1993-96) and Vic Power (1958-61).
