The Kansas City Royals failed to reach the postseason in 2025, finishing with an 82–80 record. As the team regroups with hopes of returning to the MLB playoffs next year, Bobby Witt Jr. remains the focal point of the organization. The 25-year-old star has emerged as the best shortstop in the American League. After being selected second overall in the 2019 MLB Draft, Witt made his debut in 2022.
He just wrapped up his fourth season in Kansas City, posting a .295 batting average, .351 on-base percentage, .852 OPS, 23 home runs, 38 stolen bases and 88 RBIs. As he continues to excel at the plate, Witt received recognition Sunday night for his contributions on the infield.
