Well, the Detroit Tigers got off to a rough start of the second leg of their current road trip, taking a beating from the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night to the tune of an 11-4 shellacking.
On Tuesday evening, they will get a chance to even things up.
While the loss is a bitter pill to swallow, AJ Hinch and Co. held onto the best record in major league baseball, which now sits at a 1.5-game lead over the surging Philadelphia Phillies. Their lead in the American League Central remains a robust 4.5 games over both the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians.
The Tigers are sending out the best of the best to do battle on Tuesday in their reigning Cy Young Award winner, Tarik Skubal. He will take on Erick Fedde for the Cards as St. Louis looks to once again defend its home turf.
